Tips to Ease Neck Pain

Neck pain is common and there’s a variety of things that can cause it. You may have just slept wrong and tried to turn your head a certain way only to feel some pretty sharp pain; then you’re stuck walking around all day barely able to turn to the side. You may have been hunched over at your desk all day, or done some exercise that didn’t quite agree with you. Whatever the cause, it’s no fun. Of course, a massage session here will help, but there are some things you can do in the meantime to ease that pain.

Stretching

Neck pain is frequently the result of tension within the muscles. When the muscles are tight, they bear down on blood vessels, decreasing blood flow to areas, resulting in even more pain, like those nasty tension headaches that can come along for a ride. Stretching can help loosen that tension and improve blood flow, overall decreasing your pain levels. Slowly tilt your head forward, back, and side to side, until you feel a good stretch in each position. Hold it for several seconds and breathe deep. Release and keep moving through the motions and stretching. Listen to your body and find the places where the stretch really seems to be the most effective.

Heat & Cold Therapy

Heat can help to improve blood flow and relax the muscles, while applying cold can decrease inflammation. You can use whatever feels right, but alternating between the two will often help even more. Apply your heating pad for 5 minutes, then a cold pack for 2 or 3 minutes. One round may be all you need for very mild symptoms, but if the pain is persistent, keep alternating between the two for up to 20 minutes, ending with cold to make sure any inflammation is taken care of.

Self-massage

You can use your fingertips, knuckles, self-massage tools like a Thera Cane, or even just a tennis or golf ball; anything that will provide direct pressure into the muscles. Start gently working throughout the neck and shoulders to warm up the tissues, and slowly work into deeper pressure as it feels right. Don’t be afraid of slight discomfort, but stop if you experience any sharp pains.

Get a different pillow

If you’re experiencing neck pain frequently, try switching up your pillow to see if it may be the cause. No one size fits all here. You need to find what works best for your body. And don’t forget that those pillows need fluffed and replaced on a regular basis to keep the proper support.

Of course, you can always come get a massage when you’ve got any sort of pain like this, but I know that’s not always possible and I still want you to feel amazing as much as you can. So, use these tips the next time your neck starts bothering you, and book your next massage to keep you feeling great too!

Lomi Lomi: A Beautiful Massage Modality That Combines Massage and Spirituality

Lomi lomi, also known as “loving hands” massage, is a Hawaiian ritualistic therapy that involves an intuitive, flowing, free-form technique. While you may think of almost all massage as flowing strokes, lomi lomi takes that to an entirely new level. There is extensive training that pracitioners go through to learn the technique as the energy, style, and technique are powerful. In the words of Nancy S. Kahalewai, lomi lomi is infused with “mana, the power and vitality permeating these islands”.

A lomi lomi appointment generally begins with a quiet space between you and your massage therapist. During this, we’ll bring the focus of energy onto you and your healing needs through conversation and reflection. One of the most wonderful things about lomi lomi, is the intuition that is allowed to lead the therapist, meaning no two sessions are going to be alike. In general though, lomi lomi is performed with long, free flowing, fluid strokes using the hands and arms. These may be very slow to relax and bring peace, or faster and more invigorating if needed. The goal is to rejuvenate the mind, body, and spirit, removing any energy blockages and opening the energetic pathways of the body. We may incorporate meditation or visualizations and in the very traditional forms performed by many practitioners in Hawaii, medicinal plants and other techniques may be used also. What makes lomi lomi truly special is the intense connection of mind and body throughout a session.

There are a few things to consider that are unique to this type of bodywork. First, understand that many lomi lomi practitioners don’t time their massages in the way you normally see with other forms of massage. Instead, most lomi lomi sessions are a 90-minute minimum. This allows you to have a much deeper connection and more beneficial experience. Also, the coverings and draping are minimalistic for this technique. While we always respect your modesty and will keep private areas covered, we do only use small covering to allow for the most fluid strokes possible, so you can feel the amazing energy of a single, uninterrupted stroke literally from head to toe.

While lomi lomi may be considerably different than other massages you’ve had, it’s definitely worth experiencing the incredible connection created between body, mind, and spirit.

Geriatric Massage: The importance of massage for the elderly and considerations to be aware of

There’s no doubt that as we age our bodies change. We become more susceptible to illnesses, lose bone and muscle mass, and generally become more frail. And while we can’t exactly stop the aging process, there is a way to help your body as you navigate the waters of aging; massage therapy. Geriatric massage is a type of massage therapy specifically tailored to address issues that commonly affect the elderly.

While people of all ages can enjoy a standard massage, finding someone trained in geriatric massage can ensure their ability to address some of your unique needs. For example, there should be extensive discussions between you and your massage therapist about any medications, medical conditions, or areas of concern to ensure that your appointment is the most helpful. Any time you return for an appointment be sure to update us of any changes. Generally, geriatric massage should be light and gentle, aiming to improve movement, decrease joint pain, increase local circulation in specific areas where you may have some deficiencies, and improve mood.

Most deep pressure techniques, and those meant to penetrate down into the muscle tissue, are avoided as they can cause more harm than good. We don’t want to leave you bruised, achy, or not feeling well after what should be a wonderful experience. Be sure to speak up if you ever feel like the pressure is too much. There also tends to be a loss of sensation as we age, and sometimes that means your brain doesn’t interpret the pressure quite as strongly as it really is, leading you to feel like you can handle more than is really safe for your body. This doesn’t apply to everyone, by any means, but if you notice that we’re not using as deep of pressure as you’d prefer, it may be our way of protecting your body. We may do this to adjust for medications you’re on as well, such as blood thinners which can make you bruise much more easily.

Another important aspect of geriatric massage is the simple act of touch. Beyond all the physiological benefits, massage has been shown to improve mood and boost feeling of well-being, especially in those who are experiencing a form of touch deprivation. As we age, through life changes and medical needs, we often don’t receive healthy forms of touch as often as we used to. Massage can make up for some of that by providing a safe, comforting form of touch; something every single person innately needs.

So, if you or someone you know could benefit from this specialized form of care, book an appointment or get in touch and we’ll discuss any special needs you may have.

Massage and Diabetes

Did you know that diabetes affects almost 10% of the population? It’s a frustrating condition for many people that can completely alter their day-to-day activities. Every bite of food and any physical activity has to be taken into account.

For a general overview, diabetes affects insulin in the body. Insulin is what regulates blood sugar levels so our cells function properly. There are two primary forms, simply called Type 1 and Type 2. Type 1 diabetes is generally diagnosed in childhood as the result of the body’s inability to produce insulin. These patients require supplemental insulin. Type 2 on the other hand, can develop at any age and is the result of the body not effectively using insulin. They don’t require supplemental insulin, but rather can control their blood sugar levels with proper diet and exercise. However, if not controlled, Type 2 can turn into Type 1. There are also many complications that are associated with diabetes, including heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, vision problems, nerve damage, and depression to name a few.

While Diabetes can restrict a lot in life, getting a massage shouldn’t be one of those things. Generally speaking, it is perfectly safe to receive a massage as a diabetic. However, open communication is essential! It’s not only important to tell your massage therapist that you are diabetic, but also about how it’s being managed, and what your recent health is like. It’s also important to note that massage can alter your blood glucose level considerably, and it may take a few sessions to get a clear idea of how your body responds to the massage. This will help you moving forward with regular sessions, so you know when you should eat or take your insulin in relation to when you receive your massage.

If you’re dealing with diabetic neuropathy (damage to the small nerves of the hands and feet), you’ll want to be really clear with your massage therapist about exactly what your current symptoms are, as this varies from person to person. You’ll also want to keep communicating during the session so your therapist can adjust the pressure and techniques accordingly.

Massage therapy can do wonders to help with some of the symptoms and side effects of diabetes. Whether you’re dealing with neuropathy, circulation issues, depression, or just want to relax, massage may help. Just make sure you keep an open line of communication with your therapist and keep them updated with any changes that happen along the way. This will not only keep you safe, but it will make your experience as enjoyable as possible.

How Stress Affects Your Body

We all wear many hats in our busy lives. Whether you work or stay home, have children or don’t, own a business or work for someone else, if you’re human, you have stress. Period. It’s an unavoidable part of lifeAnd while you may feel the emotional weight of all that stress, the anxiety, depression, and negative thoughts most often associated with it, stress can also take a huge toll on your body.

When you’re stressed, your central nervous system (CNS) goes into what is often referred to as the “fight or flight” response. Your body releases adrenaline and cortisol, your eyes dilate, your heart beats faster and your blood pressure increases, your muscles tense and your digestion stops to allow blood to be redistributed to those muscles needed to fight or run for your life. When the perceived threat is gone the CNS will usually act to ease the mind and body, a state often referred to as “rest and digest” because the body calms and functions return to normal. However, chronic, or long-term stress means that signal may not be sent for quite some time, so your body is staying in that state of stress for far too long.

Maybe you really don’t like your job, and the minute you wake up in the morning you’re already dreading the work day. As you get yourself ready and out the door, the impending day is hanging over you like a dark cloud. Then traffic is rough and you’re on high alert to avoid an accident. Then your day is spent dealing with difficult coworkers, bosses, or customers. When the work day finally ends, you’re exhausted. Not just because of a long day, but because your body has been in this hyper-attentive, stressed state since you opened your eyes.

Whatever your stress looks like, the physiological toll of it can be immense. The associated muscular tension can lead to widespread pain, headaches, and even make you more prone to injury. The regular increases in blood pressure can put strain on your heart and blood vessels leading to an increased risk of hypertension and even heart attack and stroke. The changes in digestion that occur during this fight or flight response can lead to nausea, constipation, acid reflux, and even increase your risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes.

Clearly the affects stress has on your body go deeper than the eyes can see. If you truly want to tackle this worthy opponent, you need to take it one step at a time and realize different techniques work for different people, so take the time to figure out what works best for youHere’s a few tips to get you started:

Exercise & Movement – When your body gets moving and your blood gets pumping, it releases all kinds of feel-good hormones that ease mental and physiological stress. You don’t have to hit the gym for two hours to get the benefit. Even just a brief walk or a few minutes of stretching can make a big difference for your mind and body.

Yoga – Don’t worry, you don’t have to have the perfect poses to get the benefits of yogaThe slow, controlled movements and breathing exercises will help you to relax and focus your mind which will help reduce stress levels.

Meditation – You don’t need to be a master of mindfulness to meditate or to see the benefits of it. Whether you take just 2 minutes or an entire hour is up to you. Regardless, taking the time to close your eyes, breathe slowly, and allow your mind to focus on something other than the things you usually stress about, will ease a lot of that mental and physical stress.

Journal – Journaling has been shown over and over again to be highly beneficial in combatting stress. Whether you’re unable to speak your mind, or you just feel overwhelmed, getting it all out in a journal of some sort can allow you to take control of those stressful thoughts and move forward.

Do something for you – As the saying goes, you can’t pour from an empty cup. You have to take care of yourself, not just others. That may be 10 minutes a day or an hour or two every week. Whatever you can fit into your schedule, start taking some time to devote solely to something you enjoy. Go for a walk, read a book, dance around to your favorite music, or get a massage!

While life is inevitably stressful, you don’t have to let that stress take control of your life or lead you to some mental or physical issues. You only get one body in this life. Take care of it!

Messages From The Universe and Exciting New Steps on My Path

For several years now, during my personal meditations, during my explorations into my Akashic Records, in activations I’ve received in the various energy healing workshops I’ve attended, I’ve received a persistent message; to teach. Whether it’s been visual images of myself teaching a group, and/or verbal messages, or just a sense of knowing, it’s been recurring and consistent. And quite honestly, I’ve not been too keen on the idea of this. I don’t particularly enjoy speaking in front of a group or having attention centred on me. So for the most part, well I won’t say that I’ve flat out ignored these messages, but I’ve basically just “tucked them away” in the back of my mind with the thought of, maybe someday, in the far distant future, I’ll consider this.

Well, a recent series of events and the strongest messages I’ve yet to receive have led to my decision to take this step Now.

It started in one of my personal meditations. I do many types of meditations, but at least several times a week, I meditate to receive messages from The Universe. I will do this by playing some solfeggio frequency music, taking a few crystals to hold or place on my body, and then just quieting the mind, and announcing something to the effect of:

“Dear God, Angels, Masters, Guides, all Multidimensional Beings of 100% God Light who wish to join me during this meditation, to transmit any messages for my highest and greatest good and the highest and greatest good of all involved, I am open to receive, with Love and Gratitude. Open to receive, open to receive, open to receive.”

And then I just see who shows up and what they have to tell me.

Recently during one of these sessions, I received a message relating to another person. This has always been a bit difficult for me, because I would always worry how the person will react to the message if I tell them; will they appreciate the information? Will they just ignore it? Will they look at me like I’m a nutter and tell me to get lost?

But, I’ve come to learn that none of that actually matters. That I am only the messenger, and once I deliver the message, my responsibility ends there. What they choose to do or not do with the information is between them and The Universe.

So, during the meditation, I received a message about a potential Light Worker. I then went looking for information to pass on to this individual, but was not able to find what I needed. But during this search, another conversation led to the topic of me teaching. I again said, “Maybe someday I will”.

In the following nights meditation, the message to teach was clear and persistent; that the one on one energy work I’m doing is great, but ultimately I should also be helping to activate more Light Workers. I came out of that meditation with the mindset of “Yes, I understand this. If I hear about any teacher training courses in the area in the future, I will look into taking the training.”

Well, next time I checked my messages where I made the initial inquiry, I received a response that, no, there weren’t any of the first level classes coming up, just a teacher training course in August. 😯

The Universe can be really persistent sometimes. So finally I said “Ok Universe! Fine! I get it! You want me to teach. I will! So be it, I will take this training!” 🙌

And so it is. I am now signed up for the New Paradigm MDT Teacher training course, taking place next month. Upon completion, I will be able to provide activations and certification for all who feel called to this modality and the Light Worker path. I’m really quite excited about this now.

So for anyone feeling this calling, stay posted or just get in touch in a couple of months, and I will start looking into options of scheduling a class. I look forward to assisting your journey into the Light Worker Path! 🙏😁☮️🌌

Massage to Help Anxiety, from a First Hand Perspective

IMG_3916

As someone who’s dealt with Anxiety Disorder for most of my life, I wanted to discuss this topic from a first hand perspective, and especially to use my personal experience and insights on this disorder in hopes of offering assistance to others who suffer from this often debilitating condition. Anxiety and Panic Disorder, like a lot of mental health conditions, can often be stigmatised by those who have never experienced these symptoms and therefore cannot relate to what we go through. Uninformed individuals can be dismissive of anxiety sufferers, with statements such as “Calm down, don’t worry about it, let it go, it’ll be fine,” etc. etc.

If only it were that simple, right? If only, when in the grips of a panic attack, we could just decide to “let it go” and then suddenly be 100% better. But no, it’s definitely not that simple. Severe episodes of panic or anxiety can stop you in your tracks, affecting you mentally, emotionally, and physically. You can feel disturbing sensations like reality is distorted, or like you’re losing touch with reality or losing yourself. It can be impossible to hold on to a rational thought during these times, as you deal with this inner struggle, trying to tell yourself “Hold on, it’ll be fine, I’ll be fine, this will pass”, whilst the irrational anxiety brain keeps interjecting with fear thoughts such as “No it’s not, no you won’t, you’re losing your mind, you’ll never feel normal again, something terrible is about to happen, you’re going to die..etc.”

These high stress response feelings also wreck havoc on us physically, with symptoms such as racing heart and heart arrhythmias, gastrointestinal distress, dizziness, shaking, and eventually extreme fatigue as the body exhausts itself from dealing with these highly draining and damaging sensations.

There’s no doubt about the benefits of massage therapy for stress and anxiety; we begin learning about this in school and further study shows a vast amount of research on the topic. Massage therapy has been shown to affect the body’s biochemistry, in ways such as lowering blood pressure, reducing cortisol levels, and increasing the levels of serotonin and dopamine – the neurotransmitters that reduce stress and promote feelings of peace, calm, and happiness. Regular massage has been shown to lead to a reduction in anxiety episodes and symptoms.

In addition, combining massage therapy with energy work such as Reiki can reach even deeper to assist with healing not only on the physical level, but also the mental and spiritual levels, clearing and balancing the Chakras and clearing away negative energy patterns that may be contributing to our anxious feelings.

But, what about when our anxiety itself prevents us from participating in these healing therapies? From my own experience, I know that several factors of anxiety that can make us reluctant to seek treatment. First, many of us experience anxiety at the prospect of going somewhere new and unfamiliar, and outside of our “comfort spaces”. Then there’s also the worry that comes with meeting a new person and working with someone we’re not familiar with. We worry about all the unknowns and irrational fear thoughts can then come in and make us worry that “something bad” might happen. And even during the treatment, something as relaxing as a massage can also invoke anxiety thoughts; for some of just the act of lying still and what can feel like surrendering control to another person can make us anxious. Or we start to worry, “Omg what if I have a panic attack during the session? What will they think of me? I’ll be so embarrassed.” Some of us also find that our anxiety is often triggered by physical sensations, and become hyper-aware of our bodily sensations, to where something like an increase in heart rate due to the increased circulation that can come as a result of massage can turn into a thought of “Omg, what if I’m having a heart attack”.

I experienced all of this when I first started receiving massage. And if I had the choice, I may have just given up and decided I didn’t want to do it again. But, I didn’t have a choice. I was in school, and part of our training obviously included giving and receiving massages to each other. So I persevered. And after awhile, I noticed that I no longer experienced the anxiety symptoms during the massage. I also noticed that I was experiencing less anxiety symptoms in general day to day life.

After finishing school, I’ve continued to make time regularly to schedule massages for myself. And I was thinking about all these things during my last massage, and how I wanted to use my experience to help others. I would like to use my experiences with anxiety to provide a safe space for others who deal with this condition to still be able to enjoy the healing benefits of massage and energy work.

If you currently suffer from anxiety or panic disorders, don’t let it stop you from coming in. I am completely empathetic to everything you may be feeling, and therefore will not be in any way judgemental of any related issues that may come up during the treatment. I will work with you to change or adjust any aspect of the treatment to your comfort level, and welcome and encourage your communication.

I respectfully invite you to take this step, to help me to help you to move in the direction towards a more peaceful life.

The Akashic Records

Several years ago in the beginnings of my spiritual awakening, I attended a couple of classes on the Akashic Records. One was a basic intro class, where we learned the Pathway Prayer Process to open our own Records and the Records of others, and the second one was called Healing Through the Akashic Records, in which we delved much deeper into our own Records for the purpose of personal transformation and healing.

This was one of the most profound experiences I have had, and was one of the primary catalysts in accelerating my spiritual awakening, so I just wanted to share a bit of information about this for those who may not be familiar with this topic.

The Akashic Records are an energetic database of everything a soul has experienced and will experience in all lifetimes for ones entire existence. The Pathway Prayer Process is one method that allows you to access these Records. When you enter the Hall of Records, you immediately feel a deep sense of peace and pure unconditional love. You are met by different guides, primarily a group of beings referred to as “Loved Ones”. Your Loved Ones are people you knew in your life who have passed on. They could be friends or family, but could also someone who was only a short term or casual acquaintance in this life, but could have been close family or friends in previous lives. For example, on two occasions now I have opened my Records and been met by someone who I knew only for a brief time in this life, only to discover they have been part of my soul group for hundreds of lifetimes. A soul group is a large group of souls who continuously reincarnate around the same time and will interact in each other’s lives in different ways. The person who is your sister in this life may have been your child in a past life, and in the next life maybe could just be the guy that serves you your coffee at the corner diner each morning.

The other beings you will interact with in the Hall of Records are referred to as “Teachers”. These are highly evolved souls, mostly who have lived previously in physical form, and have evolved spiritually to a high enough level through hundreds and hundreds of lives and experiences, who now exist only in the higher dimensional realms for the purpose of helping guide other souls through their journey. A Teacher work with many different souls, and you may have Teachers that are with you for only a part of one life, or over the course of several lives. Your Teachers will stay with you until you’ve learned everything you need to from them.

Once you learn to access your Records, you can then do this anytime you wish. It is a deeply healing experience, and a great aide to humanity in raising our conscious vibration and bringing spiritual insight into our lives. My class teacher often referred to our Teachers and Loved Ones as our “Spiritual Cheerleaders”, as they are there to guide us and support us in our life, and so joyfully and lovingly greet us whenever we open our Records. It is a true comfort in this life to be able consult with these beings of unconditional love.

I took my classes with Christina Cross at Equilibrium here in Chicago. She is a magnificent teacher, and I would highly recommend taking one of her courses if you can. Their website is:

https://equilibrium-e3.com

Also, Linda Howe, creator of the Pathway Prayer Process, has numerous amazing books on the topic and also offers classes both online and in person here in Chicago and various other locations. Her website is https://lindahowe.com

Regardless of where or how you learn, I would recommend everyone to learn how to access their Akashic Records. It will be a beautiful experience that will better your life in many ways.

How To Deal With Negative Encounters

negative-energy.jpg

As Lightworkers and those on the path of Light, it can be quite upsetting or even shocking when we encounter outwardly hostile or hateful individuals. Those of us who are empathic, and especially sensitive to energies can often find such experiences emotionally traumatic, creating intense feelings of pain and anxiety. We may even be triggered to a more primal response to want to lash out in return or retaliate in some way. However, this type of reaction will undoubtedly end up prolonging or inflating the situation, thus causing us more pain and trauma.

Instead, it’s important to listen to your intuition and Higher Self; once you are aware you are dealing with a dark energy type, disengage from any further interaction in this third dimensional realm, and instead transmute the negative energy on a spiritual level.

It’s easy to let ourselves feel frustrated, anxious about, or even shocked and angry at the behaviour of other humans at times. But we must remember, we all have our own path to follow and experiences to have in each life we live, and no matter what we are all elements of the Divine. We are all one, connected energetically. Those who are spewing out maliciousness have their own work to do, and the best thing we can do is send them love and compassion on a spiritual level. By living unconditional love for all beings, we help to anchor the Light to this planet, and thereby, like a ripple effect, will touch everyone else on this energetic grid, raising the vibration of the collective consciousness as a whole.

I know, one of the most difficult challenges we face is the need to show compassion and unconditional love to those we feel have wronged us, but it truly is the only way to heal and work towards a higher 5th dimensional existence. We will truly evolve when we can feel compassion even for humans behaving in cruel and hateful ways. Compassion to understand that they too have some deep seated trauma, either from this life or another, that is causing them to behave this way. By sending them unconditional love, we can help their healing process. Love will always conquer hate, for only love exists in the higher dimensional realms.

But, what do you do if you’ve had an unpleasant encounter and now find yourself preoccupied with negative thoughts and energies lingering?

1. Ask, What Should I Learn From This?

First and foremost, every experience we have, good or bad, is a lesson we need to learn in order to evolve on our spiritual path. So ask, the Universe/ your Higher Self/ God, “what I am supposed to learn from this experience?” Before we can move out of the negative energy, we must first address and accept the reasons we had the experience to begin with. Perhaps it was just to remind us the importance of living in unconditional love. Perhaps it was to protect us from entering into a dangerous situation, or to teach us a coping mechanism or mental skill for future encounters of the same sort. Or, maybe it was just a lesson we needed to learn to better ourselves and/or be able to help others who may be dealing with the same situation. Whatever the reason, sit quietly and acknowledge the reason, accept the truth you are given, and thank the Universe for giving you this experience.

2. Meditate

One of the best ways to clear negative thoughts and energies from your mind is through meditation. One example can be Mantra meditation. Chanting Mantras bring energy into the physical and ethereal bodies, channeling not only the vibration of the meanings of the words themselves, but the collective energy of all who have used these Mantras for thousands of years. One of the most beneficial Mantras and personal favourite if mine is:

Om Mani Padme Hum

The six syllables purify the six realms of existence in suffering, as follows:

Om – It is blessed to help you achieve perfection in the practice of generosity

Ma- helps perfect the practice of pure ethics

Ni- helps achieve perfection in the practice of tolerance and patience

Pad- helps to achieve perfection of perseverance

Me- helps achieve perfection in the practice of concentration

Hum- helps achieve perfection in the practice of wisdom

Repeat this Mantra over and over until you feel the unwanted thoughts dissipating, and again any time they start to resurface.

Another type of meditation that is excellent for strengthening your energy field and protecting you from dark energy is the MerKaBa meditation. Author Maureen J. St. Germain has several excellent books, audios, and a DVD that details how to do this meditation. Of course any type of meditation you prefer and that helps you relax and connect to the Light will be beneficial.

3. Archangel Michael

The Angels, Archangels, Ascended Masters, and many other multi dimensional beings are here to assist humanity at this time. They are here to assist all of humanity, regardless of religion, spiritual beliefs or even lack there of. All you have to do is ask; they won’t interfere in your life against your free will, but will gladly offer their assistance if you ask for it.

Archangel Michael is especially helpful to call on for protection and to conquer negative energies. He is recognised as a Champion of the Light in opposition to darkness.

You can simply say “Archangel Michael please come to me now, I need your help!” Then, mentally describe the situation you need help with, and when you feel a warm energy around you, you will know he is with you. You can also visualise the sapphire blue light of his protection around your physical body, your heart, your etheric body, chakras, and forming a blue sphere of protective energy in your heart centre. You can extend this blue shield of protection around your home, car, place of business, or anywhere else you want his protection.

A helpful decree you can say to bring in his protection at any time, in everything you do is:

Lord Michael before, Lord Michael behind

Lord Michael to the right, Lord Michael to the left.

Lord Micheal above, Lord Michael below

Lord Michael, Lord Michael wherever I go!

I AM his love protecting here!

I AM his love protecting here!

I AM his love protecting here!

4. Smudging

Negative emotions can become entities that linger around our auric field and in our living spaces. They can then attract outside negative entities that feed on these dark energies. Therefore it is essential to remove these energies with smudging. White sage is one of the best choices for this. Start by lighting the sage and fanning the smoke all around your body. Sit down and smudge under your feet. Then, move about your living space from room to room, letting the smoke waft about the room. It can be helpful to use a feather to fan the smoke in the direction you want it to go. Be sure to direct some into the upper corners of all rooms, as this is a place where dark energies can collect.

5. Visualisation

If you find yourself being continually “haunted” by troubling thoughts of the disturbing event, visualise it as a shape, or object. Give it a colour, and a name if you’d like. Then, every time the thoughts come in, visualise them in this form, and then visualise a beam of pure white Light dissolving it and dispersing it into the Universe to be transmuted.

6. Reiki

Reiki and other forms of energy healing are excellent ways of dealing with difficult situations. This can heal our physical and mental hurts, and restore us to a higher state of being. We can also send Reiki to the situation itself, to resolve it to the highest and greatest good of all involved and humanity as a whole.

7. Crystals

There are many crystals that are excellent for transmuting negative energy. One of my personal favourites is Black Tourmaline. You can wear one as jewellery, keep one on your desk or night table, or hold one in your hand whilst meditating. Hold the stone in your hand, visualise and feel it pulling all the dark thoughts/energies into it, where it dissolves and transmutes them.

8. Sound Healing

Solfeggio frequencies, which can be accessed in iTunes, Amazon music, YouTube, and probably every other music service, have specific physical and spiritual healing properties. They create positive shifts to those who listen to them by interacting with the vibrational energies of the human body.  Especially helpful for this type of situation is the 528 Hz tone. Known as the miracle tone, it can have great positive effects on the body mind and spirit. You can play it in the background whilst you work, sleep, read, or even watch TV.  Just let it play continuously until you feel at peace.

9. Make Something Good of It!

Last but not least, allow yourself to let something good come of the situation. Take that negative energy and channel it into something positive. Create art, or a song, or a poem. Write about it in a blog! For me it was a negative interaction with a hostile individual that ultimately brought me the inspiration for this article. I directly took that negativity and channeled it into this, in hopes that this can be helpful to others who may deal with similar situations. Perhaps this can help someone, and perhaps that person takes this on to then help someone else, and so on. Perhaps you just take a bad situation as an opportunity to step back, remind yourself to see all humans as the Light of God, and send the negative energies away, helping to anchor more light to this planet and bring us all closer to our Ascension!

Whatever the situation is, know that it only has as much power as you give it, and once you take that power away and send it into the Light, then peace and Light will come upon you.
